Featured Glaze Combination - Rapids
Capture the look of rushing water and soft, natural breaks with our fresh glaze pairing, "Rapids". This dynamic combo features a base coat of Mayco: Norse Blue, finished with a top layer of Mayco: Sea Salt. The result is a beautiful blend of deep, translucent blue tones softened by creamy white breaks and subtle, organic mottling - perfect for oceanic or river-inspired pottery pieces.
Base Glaze: Mayco Norse Blue (SW-166)
Norse Blue is a translucent, glossy glaze that fires to a rich, medium blue hue. Designed for use on stoneware and porcelain, it enhances surface textures and carvings, creating areas of deeper color where the glaze pools. Norse Blue’s smooth, glassy finish makes it a beautiful standalone glaze or a versatile base for layering effects.
Top Glaze: Mayco Sea Salt (SW-118)
Sea Salt is a semi-opaque, variegated gloss glaze known for its creamy white finish with subtle floating crystals in soft gray and green. When layered over other colors, it produces natural breaking patterns, smooth highlights, and flowing textural effects. It’s especially effective over transparent or translucent glazes like Norse Blue, adding beautiful movement and variation.

For best results, apply 2-3 coats of Norse Blue, allow it to dry thoroughly, then brush or pour 1-2 coats of Sea Salt over selected areas or full coverage. Fire to cone 6 for a flowing, layered finish with natural breaks and water-like depth.
